- blue and red litmus paper **
- 1 thermometer (-10 - 110 o C)**

- 1 test tube cleaning brush

- 1 alcohol burner with stand
- 1 250 mL beaker
- 1 100 mL beaker
- 1 watch glass
- 2 medicine droppers
- 1 stirring rod
- 1 50 mL graduated cylinder
- 1 50 mL graduated polypropylene (plastic) cylinder for experiments which require freezing
- round pieces of filter paper
- safety goggles

** The first three items on this list of lab equipment are necessary for completing all of the experiments in the course. If you already have items that meet these specifications, or if you do not wish to do every experiment in the course, you need not order anything. The remaining items make it easier for you to do the experiments, but there are common household substitutes you can use for each of them. These substitutes are detailed in the curriculum.
